Training in the middle of a transfer? Sure!

Image
Hello everyone! This week continues to have it's changes!   As I'm sure you read, I found out Thursday that I'm training! Sister Kioa and Sister Wilcox are going back to the 4th and 5th wards and I'll stay here in 1st and 3rd! She comes here tonight! All I know about her is that her name is Sister Budge so that will be exciting! It's really intimidating but this is what God needs me to do so I'll do it!    Another super exciting thing! Hillary and Chris had their baptism and it was so beautiful. I'm so happy for them and they are so happy as well. Afterward she said that she felt so clean, like renewed and that exactly what baptism does. They have already talked about attending the temple and they have gotten started on on doing some family history so they can take their own names to the temple! They are awesome!   Here's another miracle. So last Monday evening we get a text from a former investigator out of t

Wait, am I seeing... triple? (Still not sure of the week! Time to do some calculations)

Hi friends! This week has been pretty great. There have been some pretty exciting moments. One of the most exciting is the fact that we are now in a trio! One of the sisters in the neighboring area has been having lots of health problems and had to go home. As a result we now have her companion with us! The catch, we have to cover her area too! So for the next little bit we're covering 4 wards! It's really fun! We all get along super great and it's been cool to have a 3rd person to bounce ideas off of. It's actually a huge blessing too. Sister Wilcox brings a lot to the table! We had Zone conference this week! It is always really fun to meet up and see all the other missionaries nearby and also to get council from President Whitney. I always learn a lot and I feel like I leave inspired to be better than I am. I know I have so much to improve on but I know I've got the Lord on my side to help me get to where I need to be. We drove o

Helloooo everyone!  This week has been crazy. It's been super busy but slow with the work. People have had the craziest schedules and it's hard to get in contact with them. However with transfers and moving and stake conference we definitely had our hands full.  Tuesday we saw soooo many people before Sister Park left! That day was busy from sun up to sun down. It was so fun to get to visit everyone even if it wasn't for the best occasion.  Sister Kioa arrived on Wednesday! She is pretty awesome! We've been pretty busy since she got here teaching and finding and all the missionary things. We got back in contact with Larry! We have come to realize that he needs to be reading the Book of Mormon. It is so vital for him to be able to grow his faith before he is ready to recommit to baptism. In the midst of everything that we go through in this life, we need something to fall back on, and that is the Book of Mormon and the chur

Hellooooo friends!  This week has gone by so fast! We have transfers this week and Sister Park is leavingšŸ˜ I will miss her but I'm excited to learn from someone else. I'm so blessed I get to stay here in Denton too!  We also are moving.... again! On the day of transfers we get to move apartments. Apparently it's one of the nicest ones in the mission so that's pretty lit. So both Sister Park and I get to pack! We're back in the area which is a blessing for miles. We're getting hermanas in our zone so there's a big apartment swap happening.  Ah this week has been really good. Sister Park and I have been laughing the whole time over the most random things.  One of these occassions We had a new investigator at church. J (The one with the peacocks) was there! We had to leave our second hour class a little bit early to meet with our ward mission leader. As we were walking to our meeting, we see the back of a guy that l

This week was incredible, oh man! Miracles beyond miracles have happened every day those week! I honestly don't even know where to begin! We'll start last Monday evening. It was memorial day and one of our members invited us over for barbeque! We had some incredible ribs and a really fun time. Before we went back into Denton to go home for the night, we decided to stop at an old investigators home. It had been over a year since the missionaries contacted her! She actually answered the door and we had an incredible conversation and she wants to learn about family history! It's crazy how close we were to leaving and just going back for the night but we didn't and we get to help this person work on her family history!  We found a translator for S! One of our members brought S to our Book of Mormon study and she fell in love with her sweet heart! I mean, who couldn't? She was determined to find her a translator. The next morning she

Hello y'all!  Texas is so fantastic, there is never a dull moment. We definitely had some really funny moments this week!  Last Monday, we went to go see a new investigator. She was super sweet and offered us dinner. She mentioned that it was minudo or the stomach of a cow. The wise words of one of my friends came into my head telling me, "never eat it! It is disgusting!" We had already eaten dinner however curiosity for the better of me and I decided I had to try it. So I told our investigator to give me just a little because we had already eaten. She came back with a whole bowl! It honestly wasn't terrible, just very chewy. Sister Park had some too and afterward asked me what we had just eaten. I told her and she seemed so stunned. Our investigator totally told us before but she missed that memo and was dying! It was soooo funny laughing all the way home about it! Wednesday night Sister Park and I were talking and we bet that she will

You know where you're in Ponder Texas when you go to follow-up with a referral and you find dozens of peacocks! There were also a ton of homes with tiny, fenced in front yards with horses just chilling. It's the strangest thing. Crazy small towns in Texas. I love it! Some miracles this week! We taught G and it was so great! He was in such a good mood and was so open! He has never been like that! We showed him a video that had 3 parts and at the end he asked us where he could find the other 2 parts! He is seeking more knowledge! It's awesome! We got in contact with C! We read the Book of Mormon with her and her 12 year old daughter and her daughter got so into it! It was incredible!!  We also met a new investigator named M! She is the sweetest! She is so open to learning and experiene the church! She wants to read the Book of Mormon and to learn how to pray and be grateful. It's super great!  I love all the people we're wor
