Called to Serve

Image
On February 27th Emma Joi Gardner was set apart as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by President Gleason. Her blessing was absolutely beautiful. The Spirit was so strong and brought us all a lot of comfort. Saying goodbye was hard. We did our best to not get too emotional but tears were shed as we hugged and said goodbye in front of the temple. Emma was nervous and unsure of how things were going to go in the MTC. When we got underground to drop her off there were so many missionary hosts lining the garage waving and cheering as we pulled in. I can't even begin to describe how emotional it makes me just thinking about them. What a comfort it was to see those happy, friendly faces knowing they would take care of my baby girl. These girls are angels.

Sister Gardner is in the MTC!

When we go home there was already an email from Emma waiting for us!!! I'm here! I mean, you dropped me off so you know that but I am here and I met my teacher and a few girls in my district! I met my companion super briefly but she seems super nice! There is also a girl from Pleasant Grove here! She graduated a year after me but she looked familiar so I asked! What a small world? My P-day's are Thursdays so the next time I can email will be a little over a week! I'll try and write a letter when I get more info. They are so quick here, before I knew it, I was claiming a bed and being sent off to a classroom. They had us fill out an assessment and now they are having us write before we go start learning.  The host that picked me up is on the same floor as me so I can ask her questions if I need!  This is gonna be good! I'm excited! I'll be sure to give you more detail later.  I also may have teared up a bit as I was walking away. I lov
