Week 2 in Texas





So I love Texas and I love the people here. It is such a cool place. We had a few rainy days this week and we have another one today. Just 2 days ago it was over 80 degrees! The rain has made everything so green! 

So this week we had our first Zone conference! It's was pretty chill but it was long! I learned a lot though and it was refreshing. They also fed us Papa John's pizza! It was so good! 

Conference this weekend was also awesome! I love conference. We watched the first session at the stake center here in Denton and then we ended up helping an investigator move during the second one. Hallelujah we can go back and watch! 

The solemn assembly was so spiritual. Holy cow, being able to sustain the prophet like that was such and incredible experience. The spirit was so strong. My companion and I looked at each other and we were just in awe by how much the spirit was there. 
All the changes that president Nelson has announced are so cool! It just shows that the windows of heaven are open and we have the opportunity to gain revelation!

We also went on exchanges this week! It's was cool to learn more from the STLs! I also got to be in a singles ward for a day and that's so cool! We had an institute game night and it was so cool to play games with people my age and feel normal, even though it was just a few hours.

The happiness that comes from sharing the Gospel is unreal! So we were early to an appointment with C. so we decided to knock doors in her complex. It was rejection after rejection. On the second to last food, someone answered and they were nice but didn't seem too interested. So we walked up to the next floor and there were 2 apartments on C. floor. At this point we were late so we were going to skip that door but we felt like we needed to stop and go over to that last one. When we knocked it, it immediately opened. We were pretty shocked and we offered to share an Easter message. She invited us inside which was awesome and we shared that with her. She loved it! She said that we saved her that night, that she was going to go out and instead we saved her. We watched conference with her and she basically asked us how she can get baptized. She is so golden. She loved conference! She is a miracle!

We have been able to meet and get in touch with a lot of new people as well. Some of our current investigators have been hiding from us. C. is so awesome though! She is progressing so much and I think this week we're going to ask her to be baptized! She is so awesome! 

I'm just so happy, the spirit is the source of pure joy. Being a missionary is awesome! I love y'all! I wish I could tell you everything, until next week though!

Hello everyone! This week continues to have it's changes!   As I'm sure you read, I found out Thursday that I'm training! Sister Kioa and Sister Wilcox are going back to the 4th and 5th wards and I'll stay here in 1st and 3rd! She comes here tonight! All I know about her is that her name is Sister Budge so that will be exciting! It's really intimidating but this is what God needs me to do so I'll do it!    Another super exciting thing! Texas week 8

You know where you're in Ponder Texas when you go to follow-up with a referral and you find dozens of peacocks! There were also a ton of homes with tiny, fenced in front yards with horses just chilling. It's the strangest thing. Crazy small towns in Texas. I love it! Some miracles this week! We taught G and it was so great! He was in such a good mood and was so open! He has never been like that! We showed him a video that had 3 parts and at the end he asked us where he could find the other 2 parts! He is seeking more knowledge! It's awesome! We got in contact with C! We read the Book of Mormon with her and her 12 year old daughter and her daughter got so into it! It was incredible!!  We also met a new investigator named M! She is the sweetest! She is so open to learning and experiene the church! She wants to read the Book of Mormon and to learn how to pray and be grateful. It's super great!  I love all the people we're wor...

Texas week 9

Hello y'all!  Texas is so fantastic, there is never a dull moment. We definitely had some really funny moments this week!  Last Monday, we went to go see a new investigator. She was super sweet and offered us dinner. She mentioned that it was minudo or the stomach of a cow. The wise words of one of my friends came into my head telling me, "never eat it! It is disgusting!" We had already eaten dinner however curiosity for the better of me and I decided I had to try it. So I told our investigator to give me just a little because we had already eaten. She came back with a whole bowl! It honestly wasn't terrible, just very chewy. Sister Park had some too and afterward asked me what we had just eaten. I told her and she seemed so stunned. Our investigator totally told us before but she missed that memo and was dying! It was soooo funny laughing all the way home about it!
